A Story Filled with Compassion
Such a beautiful book. I read that it falls under the Korean literary category called “Healing Fiction” and that’s a perfect description for it.
This is no fast paced story, but one that slowly glides along like a gentle river.
It’s a story about people who feel stranded in a society focused on getting ahead, people who find one another, listen to each other and cheer each other on as they find their individual ways to live life - not with the aim of climbing the corporate ladder, being the highest achiever, or living up to societal expectations, but with the aim to find something that fulfills them, and to spend each day in the company of good people.
It is a deeply compassionate book, and I was rooting for the characters as they were rooting for each other.
A lovely slice-of-life comfort read that makes you think about your own life and made me want to spend more time in bookshops and with good people.
I’ll be coming back to this one time and again.

Slice of Life of a bookshop owner
This was the sliciest slice of life book I have ever read. I listened to the audiobook, and it felt more like listening to a podcast of a random girl who is now a bookshop owner, who talks about her experience of running a book shop.
Nothing special. But if you just need background noises, then this book is great for you.
I mean, it was not boring. But it was also not interesting. You were able to continue listening to the story without feeling any specific emotions.
