A Warhammer Horror novel
Three travellers are drawn to the Reverie, the wound in the world of the Angels Resplendent. Knight, poet, scholar, each will face their shadows amidst a deeper darkness....
Listen to it because: Peter Fehervari's novels always have a rich vein of dark terror - now he's been unleashed in a Warhammer Horror novel that will take the sinister side of the 41st Millennium and turn it into nightmare fuel for you.
The story: exalting war and art in harmony, the warrior-artisans of the Angels Resplendent have forged a radiant haven amidst a blighted galaxy. But an ancient sin stains their honour - a wound in their world that will never heal. Ignorant souls would call it a forest, but those who watch over it know better.
Nothing natural grows in the Reverie’s snow-swept glades or wanders amongst the unnatural things that do, save for the intruders who trespass on its pain. Some seek revelation or redemption, others dream of winning a place amongst the Resplendent, but all come because they must.
Three travellers are drawn into the conspiracy that wards the wound - a knight haunted by his lost humanity, an aging poet who refuses to go gently into the night and a scholar who yearns to redeem mankind. All must face their shadows in the Reverie, but only one shall gaze upon its heart, where a deeper darkness beats.
Written by Peter Fehervari. Narrated by John Banks.

Amazing Audiobook for Mystery/Horror Fans
Peter Fehervaris Books are unlike any other Warhammer 40k Fiction.
Its not the typical Bolter Mash or Grand Galactic Politic.
It has a deeper focus ont he characters, the athmosphere and the mystery.
And it delivers.
There really need to be more Fehervari Audiobooks.
If possible with the amazing John Banks, obviously, as he again does a stellar job and vibes well with the athmosphere.

Cosmic Horror, but 40k
An ambitious concept, a horror story with space marines, where the notoriously fearless astartes face a threat against which strength and weapons are of no use.
Does it work? Actually, yes. But: this won't be to everyone's taste. It's very much about the Astartes, but it's not an epic action romp, more a character study about arrogance, hubris and art which feels positively lovecraftian at times. Combine that with a very flowery prose, and you get a unique experience.

10 hours of wasted potential
When I saw, that there will be a Warhammer HORROR Audiobook with a Blood Angels Successor I was really excited - and also couldn't believe, that nobody has come up with one yet: I thought of all the potential that is burried within the whole Lore about the Blood Angel Geneseed and the little bits and pieces that are dropped in all sorts of codiecies. I imagined a story of a feudalworld, that slowly discovers that their angelic protectors are in fact hunting them at night and feeding of their blood, or of an company gone rogue - convinced, that they are superhuman predetors who are entitled to drinking the blood of normal humans... the untapped possibilities with this piece of 40k lore are endless.
But what did the autor do? He basically produced a pale copy of the "Fulgrim" novel by Graham McNeil, that describes the fall of the artistic Emperors Children legion (and their human followers - even that bit was the same) into decadence.
It's not even that I am sorry about the 10 hours i wasted on this, it's the 30 years of space-vampire Blood Angels potential, that was just ripe for the taking, that was wasted - at least, don't put it in the "Warhammer Horror"-line, if you're just doing a boring story about an unknown and unimaginative chapter because there was not a single moment in this book, that was remotely horror.
