Grandiose Hard SciFi Opera

As usual with Alastair Reynolds novels, slow world and character building, continuously picking up velocity and scale for a satifying conclusion.

Excellent narrator but audio could be better

Very good narrator with a knack for the characters voices and accents. However, the audio track‘s dynamic range is too high. When listening to it in the car, sometimes parts get drowned by traffic noise. If I crank up the volume to compensate, I’ll have my ears blasted out of my skull in other passages.

Sehr zufrieden

Wenn ich eine sache auszusetzen hätte, dann wär es lediglich, das der Leser von Szehne zu Szehne springd ohne Ankündigung oder Pause.
Ich fand mich ab und zu überrumpelt in einer eigendlich ganz andren umgebung mit andren Protagonisten ohne den wechsel mittzubekommen.

Ansonsten finde ich den redeflus und betohnung an sich ganz gut.
Gibt bessere Sprecher, aber ich mag mich garnicht beschweren.
Ich werde diese Serie weiter verfolgen.

Redemption at last but not the end of the story...

Very good book in the "revelation space" series which pushes the story along and unites threats, but in the end I feel left on too many cliffhanders all at once.
Will have to listen to the next book.
This is great, no doubt!

Eine sehr gute Geschichte.

Eine sehr interessante Geschichte. Ich konnte kaum Pausen einlegen und bin auch schon neugierig auf die Fortsetzung.

John Lee's Achilles heel...

the book series is amazing, the narrator too if he would just take a breath between paragraphs announcing the beginning of a new characters story line.

Not really Sci-fi more Fantasy then anything else

Sadly I can´t recommend this for Sci-fi fans, at least the ones who like a littlebit of realism. The Story progresion is strange and weirdly written, I tryed to be open about it but the Narrorator does not help. For some reason alot of his sentences are silent at the end, even mid talking the whole time you listen you want to adjust the audio every now and then.

Story on its own, its an interesting concept, but feels wrong in a sci-fi universe that is not established. You feel like you are missing the backstory and not in a mysteries good way. The Sci-fi tech aspect is at least for me unrealistic and too much. If they used an alien race as protagonist ok but humans? I dont think it fits.

If you dont what Sci-fi and more fantasy Sci-fi its maybe ok for you, but you still have to endure the narrators bad audio quality and pronunciation. At least for me it sounds like that.
