Really nice story and truly entertaining. What should have been said, it is the follow-up of another of Jae‘s books (sorry, do not have the title on hand). Lori Prince does a rather good job, but sorry to say so I prefer Angela Daws. All in all, a recommendation.

Jae schreibt immer Bücher mit komplexen Charakteren. Auch in diesem Buch finden wir Rae als angeschlagene ehemalige Polizistin die mit vergangenen Wunden und einem schweren Verlust zu kämpfen hat und sich dafür auch die Schuld gibt. Sie ist Butch, unnahbar und verschlossen. Ich liebe eine gute Femme/ Butch Story. Hier ist es jedoch nicht ganz so stereotypisch, weil Steph zwar femininer ist jedoch nicht absolut Femme. Der Beruf Stand - Up- Comedian war erfrischend anders und ist selten Thematisiert in Büchern als Beruf...das hat die Geschichte für mich nicht nur lustiger gemacht, weil Steph ist tatsächlich zum schießen, sondern auch sehr viel interessanter! Lori Prince hat die Charaktere und die Geschichte meiner nach wieder wundervoll erzählt!
Das ist Slow Burn Romantik vom feinsten.

Really wonderful story with great characters and a huge story behind. I liked it very much. Unfortunately the voice of Lori Prince wasn’t really mine, I couldn’t get warm with this. So this will be the first book from JAE I have to read for myself 😉 because of the really good story.
