When you discover the world is a computer program, and you figure out that by altering the code you can time travel and perform acts that seem like magic, what can possibly go wrong?

Pretty much everything.

Just ask Brit, who has jumped around in time with such abandon that she has to coexist with multiple versions of herself. Now, Brit the Elder finds that her memories don't match Brit the Younger's. And there's the small matter of a glitch that's making Brit the Elder's body fritz out. Brit the Elder's ex-boyfriend Phillip wants to help her, but he'll have to keep it secret from his current girlfriend, Brit the Younger, who can't stand her future self.

Meanwhile, Martin is trying to protect Phillip from a relentless attacker he somehow hasn't noticed; Gwen is angry because Martin accidentally proposed to her; Gary tries to help the less fortunate, with predictably disastrous results; and an old nemesis might have to be the one to save them all.

No question, the magic 2.0 series is one of my favorite audio book series since the first book. This one though I absolutely don't like the story. It's so negative and I really think that the characters don't act like they usually did. Also they completely lack common sense... I don't understand Gwen, Philipp, Martin, Britt(s, all of them), Roy is superfluous as is Tyler. Wow, this is hard without spoilers.
Anyhow... I hope the next book will go back humor of the first book. That one really was the best.
Also, this one was short!

The first one that I didn't like as much

So... First off, as one characters said, it is a really bizarre situation Philipp found himself in, under extraordinary circumstances, therefore she cannot judge him and she failed to view the situation from his view. Philipp believed the secrecy be essential for the safety of said character and acted only with her safety in mind. The story doesn't do right to Philipp. The ramifications of the complicated plot could become a real drag, but was worth the epilogue.

Can get real confusing.

I heard the first three books in German. The speaker in German was really good with the different voices. In the beginning I couldn't hear sometimes the differents with the English speaker. In the end I got used to it.
The story was really good. I liked it. It goes more in the details with time traveling and the paradox. I can see, why some people didn't like it, but I thought it was nice to go into that topic rather than to ignore it kind of. :)

Die Buchreihe ist bis zu letzt bezaubernd und lustig. Ich höre diesen Teil nun das 3. mal und kann immer noch nicht davon ablassen.

as one of many fans of this series of books I am sorely disappointed. the whole book seems to consist of couples bitching all the time without needing any reason whatsoever. a problem pulled like a rabbit from a hat. protagonists acting totally out of character. and in the end no real cause or satisfying explanation for all the trouble. nearly everything is happening "just because". or because it "has to". not one single character goes through any real development.

two stars for seeing beloved characters and places once again. minus three for the way they act, behave and do nothing.
