Loved it
... a new, diverse set of characters. Brian is heavily underrated in my opinion, could use some more attention! Already enjoyed the two powder mage triologies, now we're getting a new world with a similiar magic system. I'm seeing a lot of parallels to powder mage overall, but most things that have already proven to work in the past and now again work very well in a new setting. Looking forward to future books here!

Amazing first book!
Definitely one of the author's best work, I wish it was longer. Needs more pages for the ending.

great new military fantasy series
I already loved the 2 powder mage series, this is a cool new world (incl. it's own magic and policy) as setting for well though through military writing.

Great
Strong story. Very interesting cast. Subtle humor. And an ending that leaves you wanting to read more. Especially since there are not a lot of good fantasy books: highly recommended
