The book was funny at times and then also serious and just great!!
I ABSOLUTELY RECOMMEND IT
I have read a review saying the boys were too whiny and complaining too much - which I guess is a totally okay opinion to have.
And yes, sometimes I felt like just grabbing the boys and shaking them in hope of making it clear to them how irrational they were being sometimes
BUT THAT IS THE WHOLE POINT.
They are teens. They are stressed out and dealing with so much. Trying to cope with so much. And aside from all that and more, they are trying to figure out who they are and that simply is messy. It is about making two steps forward and three steps back. Sometimes also only having to take a couple steps back. That is growing up and showing character and a characters struggles that are painfully real to so many in real life.
The story moved me to tears so many times. Some of them out of laughter and some of them out of pain and sadness but most of them out of pure joy and happiness. It was easy to get through the audio book and so hard to pause - unless I was discussing some of the details with a friend while listening haha!
And on top of such a great story and story telling, in giving a voice to the characters Ramon de Ocampo is just perfect. He did a really great job here!
(I must admit at first I was not sold on his voice for them but it really grow on me and now I really can't imagine anyone else)
I hope you'll enjoy the listen (or read - who knows) as much as I did.

The reader did a very good job, too. I think it's hard to read a story from two perspectives but he made their voices unique and i had a great time listening.

It's told from the alternating perspective of both main characters, and you truly get to know them and their motivation. I will recommend this to anyone who'll listen..
