Flowers for Algernon was one of the most heartbreaking stories that I have ever listened to.

The terror and sadness of it comes from how incredibly human the characters act.
There are Highs and Lows, Outbursts and reconciliations and all the while confusion about why life can be so unfair sometimes.

I doubt that anyone who has listened to this (expertly narrated) audio book, will be able to ever forget the fate of Charlie Gordon.

The story is very touching and also quite sad. I think reading the book would be better than listening to the audiobook, because it makes the changes in Charlie’s writing much clearer.
