einfach nur grandios

Book Lovers might be my favorite Emily Henry book yet
The characters are so lifelike and interesting, 10/10!
I especially loved the sibling relationship. Nora and Charlie are meant to be!

Bland
The book was pretty boring tbh. I didn't care for the story (which was pretty improbable and artificial in parts), the setting nor the characters. It was all bland and colourless and 90% of the issues could have been resolved if Nora and Libby had had an honest conversation.
The secondary characters weren't really fleshed out - besides two scenes we don't really get to know anything about Libby other than how Nora sees her. There weren't any other secondary characters worth mentioning, and the main characters, Nora and Charlie, just weren't all that interesting. Nothing much happens in the book: I kept waiting but even the "big reveal" was pretty dull. Also, I found it weird Nora being a workaholic and her inability to set healthy boundaries wasn't andressed at all. All in all I am thoroughly unimpressed by Book Lovers.

My absolute favorite romance novel out there.
I have listened to this audiobook countless times, and I‘m still not over this story. It is so gripping and funny and makes you feel all the feels. I‘m relating to Nora and Charlie far more than I would have ever anticipated. And the narration from Julia Whelan is just perfection to me.

Worth the praise
I am delighted!
This book was everything I hoped for!
The romance was developed beautifully, the banter was funny and even the steamy scenes were good.
Loved the twist on the tropes too!

Cozy summer read
I really liked this book and I loved the way it was presented. Think I would have enjoyed it even more during the summer, but overall a really cozy story with a somewhat predictable ending but I anticipated and loved it for that

Absolutely delightful
Loved it. Laughed so hard that my four year old shot me some dubious looks, cried in the morning hours when I should have been sleeping a bit more but chose to dive into the story some more. It’s beautiful. Read it!

Süß, witzig, authentisch
Super süße und stw. auch witzige Geschichte mit Kleinstadtvibes, die zum Träumen, Entspannen und Runterkommen einlädt. Hier hat jedes wirklich wohl-überlegtes Element der Geschichte seinen eigenen Platz und bekommt auch seinen komplett eigenen Raum. Alles hat seine Zeit (und bekommt diese auch!) - es ist nicht gerade ein langsames Pacing aber man wird auch nicht von Ereignissen überladen. Alles braucht solange, wie es eben braucht und bekommt auch den benötigten Raum dafür. Gerne mehr von solchen (Hör-)Büchern!
Auch die Sprecherin liest alles sehr authentisch und die Gefühle der Charaktere kamen definitiv bei mir an. Wirklich wohl verdiente 5 Sterne!

At first I loved the concept, then I stayed for the witty banter and lovable characters with too much hidden baggage
The idea of focusing on the humanity and relatability of the otherwise unidimensional antagonists in the typical Hallmark like love stories is brilliant. The writing style reminisces of Gilmore Girls, and the characters’ depths unfold at different pace throughout making them sometimes more, sometimes less relatable, but understandable. It’s an overall feel good book empowering anyone who takes to much to heart other people‘s perception of them.
