Ren’s homecoming wish list includes:

  • Arman not bashing everyone’s heads together (at least not without him)
  • Getting the fortress built before the Mongs attack (not at the rate they’re going with all the the thefts happening)
  • Going home without incident (also, again, not likely)

What it did not include was:

  • Social reform
  • A child
  • A raiding party
  • Arman actually using his words

Life once again proved reality is better than fantasy, and Ren couldn’t be happier.

Except for the Mongs. He could do without the Mongs.

Ren and Arman are my fav. couple ever ❤

Beautiful as the first one. I so love ❤ being back in Ren and Arman's world.

This one has a quieter pace as even though it is set around building a fortress and dealing with sabotage and guerilla attacks the main focus lies with "the child".

It hasn't the urgency the first one had. So if you are looking for a fast paced action adventure I would suggest keeping this one in your "to reads" until the mood strikes for something a little bit quieter with some action sprinkled in between. Otherwise you might be tempted to not give the book its due and that would be a real shame.

I for one can't wait to read O'Brien's story and am curious who his match will be, a warrior? the slim statured builder Keller? a Shiirei man?
