Über diesen Titel
Legends & Lattes meets Kings of the Wyld in this sweet, queer, light fantasy, in which a grumpy ex-adventurer must come out of retirement to save the kingdom...after he saves his sunshiny bard husband.
Marriage isn't always sunshine and unicorns...sometimes it's monsters and necromancy.
It's been almost a year since Logan 'The Bear' Theaker hung up his axe and settled down with his sunshiny bard husband, Pie. But when Pie disappears, Logan is forced back into a world he thought he'd left behind.
Logan quickly discovers that Pie has been blackmailed into stealing a powerful artifact capable of creating an undead army. With the help of an old adversary and a ghost from his past, Logan sets out to rescue his husband.
But the further the quest takes him, the more secrets Logan uncovers. He'll need all his strength to rescue his husband - but can he save their marriage?
Til Death Do Us Bard is a charming queer fantasy, perfect for fans of Legends and Lattes and Nettle and Bone.

Sexual violence masked as "cosy queer fantasy"
The narrator is great, as always.
The plot is quite interesting: the husband of retired adventurer Logan is pressed into secret creepy necromantic stuff and Logan wants to get his husband back. On the way, he picks up another necromancer -- an old countess living in the middle of nowhere with her skeletons and her dog who is also a skeleton --, the ghost of his ex wife who wants to be back among the living, and a very young man who grew up raising unicorns in a pocket dimension and knows nothing of the outside world. The husband is a bard. So far, so good.
There is a CN at the beginning for domestic violence. And as soon as we meet the ex wife I thought, ah, here it is. But, after a few more hours of listening, I start to realize: no, that's not what the author meant. She meant that the ex wife was killed by a violent second husband.
We are meant to think that she may be a bit annoying but has a good heart. We are also meant to believe that the countess is just an old lonely lady who actually needs a companion.
What happens, instead, is this: Logan is, from the very first moment, belittled and made fun of and gaslighted and blamed for every little thing that goes wrong or that she does by his ex wife ghost. He is manipulated into feeling guilty for her death "it's your fault because you weren't there" and she uses that guilt at every opportunity he tries to set a boundary -- because of course, she doesn't respect those of other people.
The countess is constantly molesting and sexually harassing Logan, touching him, propositioning him, making sexual jokes, despite him setting very clear, polite and firm boundaries. And when we finally meet his husband? "Oh, she is just lonely"
What the fuck is wrong with you, @wordsofrablack ? Violent women aren't violent in your world or what? Manipulation and sexual harassment of men by women doesn't count as violence? What the actual fuck?
And you enjoy that sexual violence. You call it "teasing": "also enjoyed any scene with the countess. Her teasing, her skeletons, and her moments of vulnerability." (Interview with TheNerdDaily, Nov 2023)
Again: what the fuck is wrong with you?
