Mystisch, spannend und fesselnd und das sowohl in der Geschichte als auch in den Worten. Ich höre viel Fantasy, oft wiederholt sich der Plot. Hier gibt es viel Neues, nachvollziehbare und authentische Charaktere, spannende und nicht vorhersehbare Wendungen, einen gut ausgearbeiteten Plot und eine große Leichtigkeit in der Erzählung. Mit Stellen an denen ich laut auflachen musste und etwas Romantik aber nicht zu viel, dass es stört. Die Sprecherin ist fantastisch und mir gefällt auch die Musik zwischen den Kapiteln sehr. Alles in allem klare Kaufempfehlung. Ich warte sehnsüchtig auf den nächsten Teil. Danke für dieses Hörerlebnis!

Loved the story. It was such a fantastic read. Didn’t expect the book to make me laugh from time to time- plus point! Obsessed with the narration of this. Shoutout to Antonia Hodgson for writing this piece and shoutout to Daphne Kouma for the wonderful, intricate and captivating narration.

A magical story full of heart, humor, and heartbreak — and the narration? Chef’s kiss. I laughed, I cried, I rewound five times just to feel the pain again.
One of the best audiobooks I’ve listened to in ages. Highly recommend!

Finally a new book wich is not only written beautifully but is also fresh and new. A plot twist I truly didn’t see coming.

There are common themes like a deadly trial, speaking animals, magic etc. but nothing feels copied

This audiobook was a refreshing surprise. The FMC and the MMC characters stood out with their unconventional personality, making them both intriguing and memorable. The story itself was unpredictable, keeping me engaged and eager to know what would happen next. The worldbuilding was richly layered and atmospheric, painting vivid scenes that felt alive and immersive. What elevated the experience even further was the narration: beautifully spoken, with a pleasant accent and carefully placed emphasis that added depth and emotion to every chapter. Altogether, it’s a captivating blend of unique characters, imaginative storytelling, and outstanding delivery—definitely worth listening to.

...für alle, die Fantasy lieben. Tolles und interessantes Worldbuilding, vielfältige Charaktere, humorvoll, spannend und immer wieder Entwicklungen in der Geschichte, die ich nicht erwartet hätte. In einem Buch passiert fast so viel, wie andere Autor:innen in eine ganze Trilogie packen. The Raven Scholar endet nicht mit einem Cliffhanger, lässt einen aber gespannt auf den nächsten Band warten.

I loved the world building and character work. And the main character is a nice take on the bookish heroine stereotype. The magic system was refreshingly weird.
And the political intrigue and murder mystery keep you second guessing, whom to trust. Quite a compelling read and I’m excited to see where the story takes us.
