When I got used to the style or rather when I understood his style, you cannot not love it. It is so wonderfully written, the story is so unique, there are so many twists, different components. It is wonderful, just wonderful.
Scott Brick does a wonderful job in reading the story as well. His voice is very nice to listen to, his reading is very smooth.

Das erste Buch dieser Trilogie ist eine gelungene Mischung aus Vampier Story, Endzeit Epos und Science Fiction.Wie hat der Erzähler das Buch beeinflusst?
Der Erzähler ist einfach eine Katastrophe und ließt die ganze Zeit mit einer schwermütigen Stimme, das einzige Manko an der englischen Version dieses tollen Buches.Eine gelungene Mischung

Die Story umreisst ein sehr lange Zeit, beginnend vor Ausbruch des Virus, das die Menschheit (fast) vernichtet, bzw. in Mutanten verwandelt, bis hin zu den wenigen Überlebenden in Nordamerika 100 Jahre danach, die in einfachen Verhältnissen leben, bis hin zu deren Nachkommen, die in die Südsee geflüchtet sind, über 1000 Jahre später.
Das (Über-) Leben dieser Menschen wird sehr genau beschrieben u. auch das der mutierten Menschen, Virals genannt, wird beleuchtet, ebenso wie die Entstehung des Virus selbst.
Über allem steht Amy, das Mädchen aus dem Nirgendwo, die, die 1000 Jahre lebt, mit den Tieren spricht u. durchgängig eine tragende Rolle in dieser fantastischen Dystopie spielt.
Ich habe die Amerikanische Version, gelesen von Scott Brick, gehört u. war begeistert.
