Coming of age at the end of 1970s/ early 80s in Yorkshire can’t have been much fun: job losses, an uncaring Margaret Thatcher and her policies but worst of all: The Yorkshire ripper, a mass murderer of women who terrorised an entire region for years. When her troubled family consider moving “down south”, Miv thinks tracking down the ripper will stop this, so she and her best friend make a list of suspicious things . None of the people on the list lead them to the Ripper, but they do discover an awful lot about their own neighbourhood and families.

An endearing, clever coming of age story for adults.

An amazing book, enjoyed every word, wonderfully narrated, couldn’t stop listening to it. I listened to the book whilst out walking, my steps increased considerably as I wanted to listen to more.
