Anyone who made it to the seventh book will like how he story continues. It is "more of the same", but in a good way. Nick Podehl is an excellent storyteller - I really love when he voices the dwarfs!

Still I got the feeling that the most of the characters lack some depth. As well as the story. Up to now, there were -sadly- no real surprises. In other Books, I sometimes hold my breath when the protagonist is in trouble. Or one of the partymembers. Not in this series up to this book. The Author tries his best to correct this to some point and does a pretty good job.

Still the last Chapters of the book felt to be pretty much overloaded. Up to a point where I wasn 't sure if the "Luck" of the character is pushed a bit too much. But thats just my impression - just stating that I wasn't too happy, especially with the last three chapters.

Still, I want to know how the story continues. So, I am still hooked. Everyone who enjoyed the first six Books: this is pretty good stuff.

And: As much as they say "Gnomes rule"...... no, Krom rules!!!

Ya know what to expect and you sure as heck know that it's good. With the exception of not hearing a "you shall not pass" and a disappointing amount of deep space nine references, still the best litrpg out there.

I've have listened to a lot of LitRPGs recently but The Land is definetly in my top 3 together with Awakened Online and Critical Failures.

Eine packende Weiterzahlung der Geschichte. Einige in vorherigen Teilen angefangene Story Arcs werden wieder aufgegriffen und teilweise beendet. Insbesondere die letzten zehn Stunden bieten eine packende Mischung aus Charakterterentwicklung und Aktion. Wer bis hierhin gekommen ist, sollte auf keinen Fall aufhören!

the best book of the series so far, together with the outstanding performance of Nick Podehl, the only complaint is that it has an end. I really can't wait for another sequel ...

The writing and pacing is inconsistent and the volume of the book is way too fucking detailed. Like really the Narrator named multiple Weapons like Steel daggers with all the damage and durability multiple times that is just unnecessary and after having to realize that there are multiple 11-minute chapters where the Protagonist just looks at item descriptions that are not important at all. It is really the only reason the book is almost 50 hours.
Don't get me wrong I love the characters and the story is good, so I really like it in generall.

started off with a good idea

Personally I enjoyed the series, except for the annoying amount of dick jokes..

All the things going on with the author in the background made me realize that I should do some research before commiting to a series, otherwise I will be in the situation I am now. Thinking the author is a dick, but kinda want to continue the series if book 8 ever releases.
To give a few examples:
Censorship on his fb/subreddit - communicated by other subreddits.
Influencing reviews of himself/others by actively asking his fan base to do so.

And then there is the whole "father of American litrpg" and patenting the term "litrpg" bs
