The author is creative and knows how to write a captivating story. A real story, not like many of those LitRPG books where there is so much game mechanics and a lackluster storyline.

My only complaints are that the MC is a bit too distracted and forgetful. Like picking up magic items and other potentially useful items and not identifying them… and you never hear about them again. Or knowing that enemy X, your closest neighbor, wants your head (and having a quest to kill that enemy) but getting delayed repeatedly with side quests until it blows in your face.

Still, this is an enjoyable read and I recommend it.

Man bekommt hier sehr gut mit, dass man sich im LitRPG-Genre bewegt aber es wird nicht am ende oder anfang jeden Kapitels, dass ganze Charakterblatt runtergeleiert. Ich glaube das passiert hier nie. Es werden nur die interessanten bits vorgelesen. Das gepaart mit einem coolen Hauptcharakter und einer Welt, die man gerne mit mehr als einem Schmunzeln nehmen darf und einem anständigen Plot. Bin SEHR zufrieden!!!

I like the story, I like the main character, I like his sidekicks, I don't mind that the overarching story doesn't really go anywhere after like book 4, i dont mind the cliffhangers and I don't overly mind that MC is now basically a God with every item one could need and he just happens to forget about it.

What I can't stand is the wait between books and amount of story we get for the money. The first seven books were published in a two year span. Now one book a year gets published. And it's not like they got significantly longer.

There are way better audiobooks than this one here on audible guys.

I personally won't continue listening and don't recommend getting into it unless the alternatives left aren't any better.

The writing felt way too lazy, both the plot and the vocabulary is what you'd expect from the average dnd GM bro. The padding with the repeated level up notifications, every time with the very same, pretty long and patronising phrase, especially got on my nerves pretty quickly.

I'm certain most of the average pen-and-paper playing gms/hobby authors can come up with a better plot than that in a day or two, and probably use better language than that.

I kinda felt bad for the money I spent on it, considering that I paid the same amount of money for truly outstanding audiobooks here on audible.

Only for the desperate or those with a taste for lazy writing.
