interesting setting but problems with the protagonist
This is an interesting story with great potential and I am generally having fun listening to it.
Unfortunately, the protagonist is a narrow-minded bigot. He is emotionally limited and keeps circling the same hangups for hours. This is not good for the story and by about two hours into the third book, I either want to strangle him or kick him so hard that he won't be able to sit for weeks.
There is no real crisis, no real distress but him whining about "too much sex" and "feeling betrayed" between fucking available females.
Unfortunately, I also don't want to see him fail spectacularly and finally "get it". I just want him to stop annoying me, the reader.
That means that I'll stop reading the series, annoyed and disgusted with the protagonist.
Your mileage may vary, of course.

best part of the series
the series is good
some parts are better others are less good,
part 3 is the best.
