Well, WOW..this blew my mind and heart to pieces!
In my eyes and I believe many agree with me, JEM wrote another masterpiece. This time she went very dark, and this book seriously gave me all the feels! It abso-freaking-lutely blew my mind and my heart to pieces!
The Brit is a dark, steamy, wicked, twisted, Mafia Romance thrill ride. An absolute page-turner for me!
Danny and Rose experienced evil at a young age and their emotional walls are up and seem unbreakable! They are flawed and scarred which made Danny a stone-cold, no second chances assassin and Rose an emotionless but strong-minded asset to some powerful evil people.
In a turn of events Danny takes Rose as collateral and to also blackmail her current lover! Little did he know that she stirs something within him he didn’t expect and oh boy do they drive each other up the wall.
Although their sexual tension gave me whiplash due to the twisted and messed up push n pulls which had my heart and mind on edge, there are also moments that made me smirk and grin and fall in love with them!
So this book isn’t for everyone as it displays scenes of violence and topics that not everyone feels comfortable with and as the warning in the blurb says, not for the fainthearted but if you like dark n dirty, wicked, angsty and a lot of edge of your seat suspense, then you need this angel-faced assassin & his strong fierce Rose in your life!
I love JEMs books, she is a 1-click author for me, and she really makes you fall in love, then hits you where it hurts, right in that angsty heart but somehow puts it back together!
I already loved this book once I read it but Shane East and Vanessa Edwin giving Danny, Rose and all of the side characters their voice turned Jodi´s words into something even more special. I loved everything about this phenomenal performance. Shane and Vanessa gave these characters life, the different accents, the different tones to their voices and OMG the emotional scenes, be it angry, sad or raw it totally captivated me. Award-worthy performance. Definitely recommended and worth the credit!

Really loved this book!
Dark mafia romance. Very emotional, fast paced roller-coaster ride. Great chemistry between H and h. Narrators did an excellent job!

The best!!
I just randomly picked this book because of Shane East but boy oh boy!! It turned out to be one of the best books in that genre I ever did listen to! Both Vanessa and Shane did an amazing job of giving the main characters their voices! Go ahead and listen to it!
