Knowledge is power. That would be the motto of Lander University, had it not been snatched up and used to death by others long before the school was founded. For while Lander offers a full range of courses to nearly all students, it also offers a small number of specialty classes to a very select few.
Lander is home to the Hero Certification Program, a curriculum designed to develop student with superhuman capabilities, commonly known as Supers, into official Heroes. Five of this year’s freshmen are extra special. They have a secret aside from their abilities, one that they must guard from even their classmates. Because for every one person in the world with abilities they can control, there are three who lack such skill. These lesser super beings, Powereds as they are called, have always been treated as burdens and second class citizens. Though there has been ample research in the area, no one has ever succeeded in turning a Powered into a regular human, let alone a Super.

Ich mochte die ganze Serie
spannend, witzig, aufregende Charaktere und Handlungen. Ich habe mir zwischendurch ein bisschen mehr Romantik gewünscht, kenne es aber vom Autor nicht wirklich anders, von daher war es ok. Die Story an sich war wieder fantastisch! volle Empfehlung!

I kinda hate it.
It's either made for (American) kids, or It's just plain bad.
As I hinted at, it is very American (like having a "drill sergeant" as a teacher, or everything, like hero history, being about America) but that's only one of the problems, the bigger ones are the plot holes, and the childish writing.
I can somewhat excuse the childish writing, but writing like this:
"Person A goes to a party with friends, he leaves to get something from his "friends" car, on his way he gets jumped and falls unconscious. He doesn't return to the party, instead informs his GF that he doesn't feel good, so he won't be returning. His friends do not question him about this and a certain "drill sergeant" threatens to throw him out because he got jumped and wasn't ready for it, plus he says he doesn't really care about those unsanctioned fights"
Now, why do I hate this?
1. Why didn't his friends come looking for him? (I am pretty sure a certain mind reader was part of his group, so why did she not notice him getting attacked?)
2. how did he just leave, considering he had his "friends" car key, which he had to return?
3. Why did his GF not talk to him about this, considering he just dumped her at this party?
4. One big issue in this world are heroes gone rogue, and yet the entire "school" fosters bad blood and teachers apparently don't care about one student jumping another.
This was just one example of many, and those many + the other two problems are the reasons I kinda hate this book.
So if those 3 points don't bother you, then I guess I would recommend this series.
