Tala had to fight tooth and nail in the Magic Academy to forge a path to power that was her own. She knows it’s her duty to use that power to serve humanity, defending them against the creatures of the untamable wilds. However, she skipped a few steps in her education, like apprenticing to someone who actually knows what they’re doing.
Now, Tala has to balance learning as fast as she can with paying off the veritable mountain of debt the Magic Academy dropped on her shoulders for the opportunity; not to mention staying alive.

Great slice of life magic! :)
The world is interesting and you sit on the schoulder of the MC and get to learn of her progression. It was very pleaseant to hear and quite wholesome. Thanks for the story. Hope to hear more of it!

Etwas träge...
Eine leicht ignorante, querdenkende, junge und angehende Magierin. Die erstmal grundlegendes in einer Welt voller Magie lernen muss. Träumt vor sich hin, stirbt gleich fast mehrfach und läuft recht blauäugig durch die Welt. Komischerweise wird sie von jeden gemocht und bekommt unglaublich viel Hilfe. Etwas träge und das ganze Buch dreht sich um lediglich eine Karawanenreise.
Evtl. etwas für nebenher oder zum überbrücken bis die eigentlichen Lieblingsserien erscheinen.

Great world, bad story
The Good:
The book has a detailed and colorful fantasy world, that is established in a easy to understand and believeable way. It is a lot of fun to hear/read about the flora, fauna and even the societal aspects of the magical setting.
The Bad:
The story kept the trope of a heroine that has no regard of the common sense of her own world. She also kept demanding and/or asking for favours of others while not even attempting to show any interest in the needs, occupation or whishes of the people she interacts with, which made it hard for me to root for her.
Something that infuriated me the most are the many deus ex machina moments. Heroine is reckless and does something stupid? No worries everything is fine, since she seems to be basically invincible, and also has exactly what she needs to receive no repercussions for her actions. Heroine has a problem like low funds or missing equipment. Here are random civilians and prominent masters of their craft providing everything she needs for no realistic reason at all.
Afterword:
I stopped after about 2/3 of the book. I just don't like the main character or the story enough to hear/read the rest of it. Everything else is quite well written in my opinion.
Tldr.: A wonderful, creative and interesting fantasy world, in which a child gets to say what happens to the heroine.
