Über diesen Titel
What would you do if you found a spaceship? Would you call the government, would you pretend you never saw it, or would you keep it a secret? What would you do with it? Use it to gallivant around the galaxy, conquer Earth, get filthy rich, or try to improve life on Earth? Listen along and find out how Marc works to convert Earth into a spacefaring world capable of defending itself and of being united as it meets the other civilizations in the galaxy. He and his brother start planning their next steps, but the one they don’t know how to prepare for is the arrival of Marc’s 12-year-old daughter. She comes to spend the summer with her father. She’s very smart and extremely curious.
Marc and his crew need to accomplish all this without tipping off the US government and before the Paraxeans come looking for their spaceship. But they have help, the ship’s AI is on their side, and she’s smart.
Starship Sakira is the first book in the exciting new adventure series Delphi in Space.

Total waste of time
"What would you do if you found a spaceship?"
In general I like this kind of thought experiments, but this book is a total waste of time.
If you are looking for a similar plot (finding a spaceship) but far better writing and narration,
check out The second Ship by Richard Phillips, read by MacLeod Andrews.

When Marc discovers the spaceship by accident and is introduced to the AI, there are minutes of Q&A dialogue with the AI, but Mark is not asking any relevant questions like "who are you" or "why are you here"?
His 12 year old daughter is acting like a grown up and the adults behaviour can not be described as such.
When his daughter is kidnapped, instead of finding a way using his new found alien technology or make a sophisticated plan, Marc and his partners casual kill all the kidnappers and dispose of the bodies by feeding them to the sharks.
This kind of violence is just unnecessary and unjustified. If the kidnappers had actually killed someone close to Mark, such behaviour could be reasonable, but that is not the case.
An additional pain are the short sentences. It improves a little, but not much.
"Listen along and find out how Marc works to convert Earth into a spacefaring world"
You can listen all you want, Marc is more interested in making the easy money by lifting a ship wreck.

Narration: Jessica Gurd sounds bored. Maybe this is related to this book, but listening to her other books I have the feeling that is just how she narrates. This is not the quality I expect from an audiobook. Her narration is not bad, but simply has no colour. Listen to an audio sample by Emily Woo Zeller for comparison.

Stay away from Starship Sakira, it´s not worth the time. I gave it a chance to see if it got any better, but sadly that is not the case.
I have no clue why this book has so many good reviews on Amazon.
