Although a bit generic, the story somehow manages to keep you in suspense, making you want to keep listening.

The slightly archetypal characters are fairly relatable in their struggle for identity, bearing mind that the story begins in the 80s and expands over the course of about 20 years.
I quite liked the trope of two lovers forever bound by fate that runs as a major thread throughout the story.

With the enjoyable/positive bits out of the way, this is where the wheels come off the story’s wagon: the ending… rarely have I seen an author f**k up an ending in quite a spectacular fashion. This was by far the most far-fetched, most disgraceful display of “I need to make the story come full circle” that I’ve come across in … well forever really.
