What an absolutely teriffic story!!!!

What a great story that draws you in and keeps you on the edge of your seat until the end! I had been looking for a nice long audio book story, but let me tell you, I found so much more while being cuddled up on the sofa with my cats this winter.Hard to believe that this had been Cari Hunter's debut novel. It is such an anthralling, well crafted story, Right from the first page the pace is spellbinding.

What seems like any other snow chaos week start in the Peak District area soon escalates to a nerve-racking race against time. Police officers Sam and Mac stumble into an armed robbery and Sam gets seriously injured when taken hostage.Dr.Kate Myles from the local district hospital provides medical help and tries desperately to save Sam's life in the dark,cold barn.

Welcher Moment von Snowbound ist Ihnen besonders im Gedächtnis geblieben?
Cari Hunter has a true gift of desribing the situations so realistic and the main characters& secondary persons with which such vibrant personalities, that the scenes developed before my eyes with each new sentence. The medical treatments and processes are spot on correct but not overflowing with jargon, which I found very good. It just adds perfectly to the realistic setting and to the tension building more and more.

Next big plus, that the story is not over with the rescue of Sam and Kate, but just half way through. In the second part the emphasis is on the growing connection between those two brave,strong ladies unfolding into an amazing love story. It is touching how Sam and Kate get over their fear and confusion towards more then a deep friendship that started under horrible circumstances.

Hat Ihnen Lesley Parkin an der Geschichte etwas vermittelt, was Sie vielleicht beim Selberlesen gar nicht bemerkt hätten?
Lesley Parkin does an absolutely stunning narration of this multi-layered storyline. Thanks to her voice talent all the book's characters big and small really come to life. Sam and Kate are easy to distinguish, one a bit more cynical, the other a bit more reluctant but both full of courage and determination despite their exhaustion. But Lesley Parkin doesn't stop there, Mac,nurse Laura down to young injured Emma all are shaprly differentiated in their speach patterns and accents! Simply wow!!!!

Was wäre für andere Hörer sonst noch hilfreich zu wissen, um das Hörbuch richtig einschätzen zu können?
This audio book has all what it takes to become one of my all time repeatedly listening favorites! Let yourself be drawn into Sam and Kate's story, you won't regret it and enjoy 9 hours of pure listening entertainment!
