Montana Coggeshall, duke of Coggeshall, defeater of dungeons, he of far fewer intelligence points than is probably recommended, is finally ready to start building his dukedom. He just needs one more thing before he can leave Osterstadt: a few hardworking friends to join him on this adventure.

Well, and some lumber. And nails and whatnot. And enough food to get through the winter. And probably some more gold.

All Montana needs before he can leave Osterstadt are some friends, some building materials, food, and money.

But he did promise to retrieve some magic texts from a cemetery for Emmeline. And he really should try to help the lost little boy who keeps following him around. And all the undead in that basement crypt aren't going to re-kill themselves.

Maybe Montana's taken on a few too many side quests.

the artwork is really bad, but story is worth listening. good heros are some kind of boring but here it has a good balance.

Story is great. Sometimes the narrator forgets which character he's currently speaking (mostly happens with Nicholai). It's a bit unfortunate that the cover art looks so low quality; like it was made with low budget 50 years ago. You could easily exceed that level of quality and design with unique AI art (e.g. Midjourney).

Otherwise clear recommendation.

The storyline is rather interesting, same with the world building. So far the story has an interesting direction, though a lot of things makes Lil sense and the main character is very stupid. Supposedly nobles are important, but their words have little influence or murdering an imperial Duke is fine, then killing the murderer before he can do more damage is a big crime... The MC is incredibly naive, very stupid and makes a lot of mistakes.

its quite annoying, that the MC is just staying dump af. without his SC we would just be dead, lost or in prison. I really hope he will get some IQ in the next book, to keep listening. otherwise its going to end with the next book. even tho its currently for free.. its wasting time and gettin on my common sense.
