This is definitely one of those books that has you crave artwork, a series, perhaps a movie adaption, but most importantly a SECOND VOLUME right away. As a fan of wuxia, xianxia, and steampunk, this was the ideal mix for me. I had heard it compared to Iron Widow, which I don't necessarily agree with. The themes and plots have overlap, but not all that much. I rather felt a similarity with Spin The Dawn or Daughter of the Moon Goddess, both of which I enjoyed as well. Among the three, this might be my favourite though, if simply for the world building that feels fresh and not yet as explored in fiction quite as much.
