"Kill. Kill them all." It's the first four words Lars usually wakes up to every morning as the voice in his head nags him, telling him she's just giving him a "quest" that will help him "level".

But even if he wanted to do it, he can't. They're cultivators; beings with ancestral bloodlines that have powers he could only dream of and that may as well be gods while he is stuck as a puny human. Even if he could kill them, the people who bullied him, beat him, treated him like a punch-bag pariah for being the "tailless worthless human" that he was to them, he wouldn't. It just wasn't in Lars's nature.

That is, until a vicious group of murderous psychopaths called a "sect" descend on his village. The vicious group brutally kills everyone he's known his entire life, taking a select few with them as slaves. Lars must now trust he isn't going insane and find a way to complete the voice's quests and level up, so that he can save his mother from her cruel and heartless captors.

Die Geschichte ist am Anfang nur eine Standart Progression Fantasy Geschichte, aber mit etwas zeit wird die Geschichte immer besser und mit jedem Band der Reihe bekommt die Geschichte auch mehr tiefe..
Außerdem ist der Sprecher großartig.

The premise, great narrator and cover art lured me in, but in the end it's just more of the same. Lots of references to games/anime popculture, some sloppy romance/fan-service to keep the horny teens interested, some violence and authority charade to keep the power fantasy crowd going. The plot doesn't have any twists that you won't see coming from a mile away and everything that happens turns out to be immensely useful to the mc down the road, without exception. Many illogical decisions and ass-pulls are made to keep the plot moving. And boi it moves fast. Any growth of the mc feels void by the end of the book aswell in preparation for the sequel. While listening I couldn't help but think that this was written with the sole intent of making money, no passion involved.

If you're really bored, it's fine. Buy it - consume it - and forget about it.

this is trully a furry cake with furry topping and furry cherry on top.
ALL the females in this sound ether needy,horny or just about to come all over the floor. narrator makes actually a good job at this but it make "normal" conversations a pain to listen. for some reason(and i get it this world is in "pursuit of power and immortality") every woman is "stunning" or "breathtaking" there is nothing else or inbetween.

but the worst part is that MC ever after living in this cruel world and being abused and mistreated his whole live does not know how the world works and what is there for the weak. for some unknown reason he has modern morality in this almost medival world of eat or be eaten.
