The narration was horrible

Why did she make the fmc sound like a whiney child? And the mmc like an old man with that weird stutter/rasp?
This made the already kind of boring story incredibily unberable.
I don’t know if I‘ll continue this series. But surely not with the audio version.

Interessante Geschichte

fängt etwas schwach an, nimmt aber stark an Fahrt auf. Mehrere Höhepunkte im Verlauf, welche Spannend aufgebaut sind.

Der Wechsel inmitten des Buchs, wer die Geschichte vorliest war anfangs sehr plötzlich und ungewohnt. Der Männliche Sprecher ist hierbei schwerer zu verstehen und hat eine etwas eintönig Stimme.

Great story, not so great narration

Excellent story but the narration is so high pitched, it really ruins it for me.

Great book, terrible narration

I loved the book, the story, and the characters, but the narrators were terrible. Why did the female narrator make the MMC sound like an old man when he’s in his late 20s? And yes, the MFC is suffering, alright, but the point is that she always perseveres, so why make her sound like she's constantly on the brink of death, with that soft whiny voice?

I won’t even get started on the male narrator. Why was he in such a hurry? The cadence was weird as hell, and when I first heard him, I literally cringed.

For someone who cannot ignore the voices in the audio book, it might be better to read it, and not listen to.

The story is compelling and I think the characters are rather interesting

BUT the narrator of the main character is horrible. The first hours where honestly so hard to get through and only possible because the story is good. But the voice is really annoying. Sad to have the story so compromised with that.

Amazing story terrible speakers

I read the trilogy and absolutely love it. It's so beautiful and sweet and traumatic... the emotional damage I took...

But this audiobook was terrible. I really could not finish it. The narrators are tone death and sound like old folks, not like mid/late 20s people. Really sad, because I love the story so much. I hope there'll be a better version in the future, now that the books are trad published.

Thought through story

I really like the story! Best thing about it: finally a FMC that is smart and has a big heart and is not annoying! Also relationship wise it feels genuine, they develop and make sense. I am curious to see how the story will develop in the next books.
I think the reader does a good job, i just didn’t like the high pitched voices to much (but to be fair she even does some Charakter development with that).

Build up worth the wait

It takes a while for the plot to build up and for things to het into motion. there is a bit of action in the first chapter but the tension of it soon slows down to a build up crawl. it took me a while to get throw but it is so very worth it! when the plot gers into motion lots of pieces fall into place and things get interessing. sadly I have to wait for part 2 and 3 as audio books now...

But the narrator was really bad. I hated the voice she chose for female characters and especially the female main characters accent.

Voice acting was painful

The main voice actress actually does a good job - except for when she’s voicing the main character. She makes her sound like a whiny, dumb 6 year old. Which is especially jarring considering she’s supposed to be a strong, powerful young woman. The male voice actor is just awful, he sounds like he’s dying of lung cancer just gasping after every other word. It’s so incredibly grating and distracting i was dreading his chapters. Overall the story is decent, perfect for something light to listen to while sitting at the pool on holiday, but the narration close to ruined it.
