Strong messages and a cohesive narrative make this even more enjoying for me than some great works of Brandon Sanderson or Patrick Rothfuss.

Je mehr der Charakter Kaiden über seine Vergangenheit erfährt, umso unglaubwürdiger wird sein Teil der Story. Manchmal hätte ich diesen Teil am liebsten überspult. Die anderen Teile der Geschichte bleiben spannend und ich freue mich auf den nächsten Band.

If you like the idea of epic fantasy with interesting worlds and lots of characters but can't stand the long stretches of zero story development in the Wheel of Time then this is the book for you. You get to visit a carefully crafted world with a fast paced storyline. Stop paying attention for a second and you're lost with no clue of what just happened. I'd probably have enjoyed reading this myself even more for that exact reason but Michael Kraemer does such a good job narrating that it's a close call.
I'm currently anxiously waiting for the end of the month so I can spend my new credit on book 3.
