The story has a bit different angle and it's good that way. A lot of funny parts and I like the characters. Give it a try and enjoy.

Something different but good

The protagonist, Richard, turned asocial after his parents death. He lives in a small apartment in Portland until a magic book changes his life, going from fat to fit.
The "para" (paranormal) society differs from the mundane. For one, polygamy and free se x are commonplace. Be prepared, Richard quickly picks up not just one but two women.
Fortunately, the setting is interesting. This one book lays a good foundation, and it should be enough for a series of at least five books. Unfortunately, the author seems to have gone AWOL, and the series is on hiatus. May they return.
