I really like the tea theme and how the main character learns to find her own path! Loved listening to it, bonus points for magic and cuteness. My only criticism is that sometimes the writing was a little too obvious for me, like spelling things out that wouldn't have needed it. But would definitely recommend it

This is a thoughtful book that manages to be captivating, funny and well-plotted. It's rich in social justice themes which is a real strength of the book in my eyes. Its main character is very thoughtful and respectful and given the current political climate this is exactly the right kind of escapism, at least for me.
The speaker is fantastic and very pleasant to listen to.

I only read it half way through tbh. I couldn't bare the story longer.

It starts out really cute, and looked like a good overall start of a story. I enjoyed it then.
But the longer the story goes the more of her problems simply evaporate in ways that make no sense.
The character development is not done well. At first the main character is a naive princess Wich makes sense but as the story goes she grows into this overconfident, nothing will happen to me, completely naive female main character that always needs saving by somebody else. it a freakin cliche.

and ofc everything in her new live falls in place, she gets her own hut to sleep in, food from the manor, a sponsor who pays her stuff, a job, a friend, eventually a high education degree.
The guard her grandma sent to her is persuaded to guard her at her new life even. and doesnt tell his contractor he found ger or that her friend is a powerful witch. wtf.
and works as a new coffee server boy. and she falls in love with the silent, poor artisan she sells her secret to and he falls for her too? what? he doesn't sell her out straight away to afford proper housing for his family? or food for them?

I was really disappointed, bc the story started out so nice cute and cozy and only went downhill. I dunno if it gets better, but I doubt it.
if you're searching for a shallow romance in a shallow story that feels kinda cozy that's the book for you.
But don't say I didn't tell you.
it doesn't feed your mind.
