I live on Vancouver Island on Canada's west coast. However, I grew up surrounded by the history of Scotland and Europe and history is the trigger for all my stories, whether for kids, teens or adults: Arctic Exploration (North with Franklin: The Lost Journals of James Fitzjames); The Spanish Civil War (Lost in Spain); WWI (Shot at Dawn, And in the Morning), WWII (Flames of the Tiger, Four Steps to Death); the American Civil War (Death on the River); or the Wild West (Written in Blood and Ghost Moon). I firmly believe that the decisions a Roman Legionary (Germania), or a Medieval Crusader (The Heretic's Secret Trilogy), had to make were just as confusing and frightening as any of the decisions we have to make today.
