Janice Knapp was born in the South, raised in the Midwest, and now lives in the East. She has been writing for over twenty years, the first seven of which were spent writing novels. That was her apprenticeship. Then, everything changed when her husband gave her a copy of "Greasy Lake" to read, by T.C. Boyle. She turned to writing short stories, and her imagination took flight. Many of her stories have appeared in the small literary presses, including Barbaric Yawp, Songs of Innocence, Enigma, Bibliophilos, and Saranac Review. "Psychopup" first appeared in print in a collection of seventeen short stories titled, "Psychopup and Other Stories." She soon found that "Psychopup" (aka Damon Porter) had a mind of his own . . . relentlessly demanding a full book all about himself. Today, ten years later, "Thus Spoke Dog-Man" enjoys a virtual existence as a Kindle Edition on Amazon.com.
