She trained in Primary Education and then went on to teach English at an Independent School in the South East of England – where she continues to teach today. Her inspiration to write came about during her time as a foster carer and teacher. Having monitored the reading habits of many children over the years, she wanted to write a book that would reach and engage a wide audience, particularly reluctant readers – the result: ‘The Prophecy of the Dragonix.’ When Denise is not busy teaching, she enjoys yoga, dancing and spending time walking her dog; not to forget of course, thinking up ideas for the writing of her next book in the Prophecy sequel!
