The Warlord Chronicles begin with The Winter King, which traces Arthur's return to the kingdom and ascension to the throne. The second novel, Enemy of God delves into conflicts within the kingdom, including the tension between traditional pagans and Christians and Britain's war with the Saxons. In Excalibur, the trilogy comes to its astonishing end as Arthur makes his final attempts to beat the Saxons while also coping with his ruined marriage and dreams destroyed.  

The entire trilogy is read by Jonathan Keeble, a familiar voice to fans of Cornwell's audiobooks and other action-packed works of history and fantasy. Listeners have praised Keeble's narration as “excellent,” “wonderful,” and “amazing.” His performance brings the beloved epic and its iconic characters fully to life, with the right mix of energy, passion, and authenticity.
