Author Bill Crider has a knack for crafting good-natured banter between the sheriff, his deputies, and the townsfolk, adding local color and contributing to the series' staying power.
 

Master narrator George Guidall nails the homespun, crime-solving style of Sheriff Dan Rhodes. His brilliance with the snappy dialogue is matched by his flawless delivery of Crider’s wonderfully descriptive text of humorous, small-town characters. Guidall is so darn appealing, listeners won’t want the story to end.
 

Author Bill Crider was born and brought up in Mexia, Texas, and taught high school and college English classes for many years. He describes himself as “a pretty boring guy”, though fans of his fiction will certainly disagree. In addition to the Sheriff Dan Rhodes novels, he is the author of the Truman Smith Private Eye series and the Western-meets-noir Ellie Tain Thrillers.
