In a strange little home built into the branches of a grove of trees, live three robots—fatherly inventor android Giovanni Lawson, a pleasantly sadistic nurse machine, and a small vacuum desperate for love and attention. The day Vic salvages and repairs an unfamiliar android labelled “HAP,” he learns of a shared dark past between Hap and Gio–a past spent hunting humans. For a millennium and a half, through the Middle Ages, Renaissance, Industrial Revolution, and Victorian Era, keeping their identities secret, living through the centuries, making their mark subtly on human history until 1921, when this duo decide to come to America following the First World War and H1N1 pandemic, landing on Ellis Island and beginning a 100-year period of new and sometimes rather unusual adventures, navigating American society of the 20th and 21st centuries, dealing with all sorts of controversies and complexities, and at times having a lot of fun.
