  • What's the deal?
    Jul 23 2022

Welcome to the first of our new series ‘What’s the deal?’

As a financial journalist, Victoria will bring her knowledge, wit and wisdom to a subject that is traditionally pretty dry and dense.

We want to fill the gap between all the blogs, podcasts and websites that help complete beginners start investing and super advanced specialist sources that you need a finance degree to understand.

    ___\\\\ ___

Why do we need to talk about what’s wrong with ETFs ?

    • Because they are praised as the holy grail of investing for beginners and NO ONE EVER mentions any criticism
    • ETFs are still great but not a magic money making machine
    • ETFs are not immune to stock price swings
    • ETFs can be riskier than blue chips
    • If ETFs own huge chunks of companies, less governance control
