  • He draws himself a bath
    Sep 8 2024
Welcome to episode 9 of YOU DON'T KNOW. We are back after a long break with a new episode! A recording of an essay written by David in response to the METODE project’s second callout, ‘Being, Bathing and Beyond’. The essay takes place in the bath, and forms a meditation on the themes of grief, memory and portraiture, and how our experiences of bathing tie in. You can read more about METODE here, and you can read David’s essay from volume two here.

    Jun 5 2022

Welcome to our second bonus episode.

'It's your (basic) footwork' is a collaborative poem/essay by Lizzy and David Turner, and is a brief look at how much effort it took to control our feet while learning to box.

The writing features in the new anthology, KINETIC, published by Colliding Lines. All writing in the anthology has been illustrated by visual artists.

  • Sorry for the Mistakes
    Apr 18 2022
Welcome to episode 8 of You Don't Know.

This episode features a collaborative story, written in three voices, by Lizzy and David. It (irregularly) follows two people who feel that they are moving in and out of an alternate place, and their responses through differing mental lenses to a landscape and each other.

For the first time in the series we have invited another person to read alongside us. We are delighted to welcome Vanessa Onwuemezi onto the podcast and to introduce her to anyone that doesn't already know her.

The episode is accompanied by a hand written and typed letter, which is available to buy from our website for £6.00 +p&p.

A full episode transcript can be downloaded here.

10% of all web shop sales will be donated to the Eat or Heat Foodbank in Walthamstow.

    Find Lizzy on Twitter here.

    More audio from David here.

Read, At the Heart of Things by Vanessa here, and buy her debut short story collection here (or in all bookshops).

The Omega paperclips used for binding the accompanying letter can be found here.
