Fabricated Identity: How Fashion Shapes (or Distorts) Who We Are

Please lend me a second of your time.

Clothing maketh the man. And by "man," I mean everyone.

First impressions matter, but does what we wear determine how far we'll go?

What shall it profit a person from accumulating all the wealth and not the ball?

In roughly 99 years, everyone on the planet called Earth, including myself, jotting this down—will be gone.

Yes, broke individuals may complain that style is a distraction. But how about social media? Experts meticulously designed and built a mechanism to manipulate people's thoughts, resulting in mental masturbation.

    What, then, do we like?

Suppose you don’t like fashion. I love fashion, and philosophers love fashion too. That’s what the Goodlife Philosophy is all about, in case you’re missing one of the core ingredients.

By the way, one can love fashion without being a fashionista, but your sense of style will still shine through in other areas of your life.

Some love fast cars. Others love luxury travel.

Maybe you dream of the Maldives or a five-star escape in Canberra’s most lavish hotel. It’s all the same—taste, better living, memories, and status. That’s what humans desire. That hasn’t changed.

If you don’t like fashion, maybe it’s time to start paying attention.

Without enjoying and experiencing the best things in life, what then is life itself?

Life becomes a boring piece of sh!t.

Wake up in the morning, go through the motions, and wait for the day you finally kick the bucket. F*ck no.

What’s the essence of the hustle and bustle?

A friend was surprised when he saw the receipt for my Balenciaga purchase.

"You mean you spent that much on those boots?!" he asked.

I said, Yes. Are there problems?

He was worried—even though I got the ballers on a special offer.

The original price was $1,200, and I snagged them for 750 bucks.

What he failed to realise was that I used money to buy back money in some way.

After about 8-9 months of rocking those insane boots, I sold them for around $450 (minus taxes and fees).

    Sounds good, right? Yes!

I rarely purchase anything that won’t return some form of monetary value.

There’s a lot to gain when you grab the best of everything, philosophers.

You expect the best, and at the very least, you can rest assured that your expectations won’t fall short.

And you don’t always have to buy them directly from luxury stores—many are available as second-hand items. The key is to adopt a mindset that allows you to enjoy the best things in life, no matter where they come from.

Some haters call it lifestyle inflation—claiming it’s stressing 'em out. No. You’re just broke.

That’s what I want. And any money I spend on fashion is, to me, an investment.

Every luxury brand worked hard to become what it is today. So if you’re paying for something carefully crafted, please, patronise them. It’s worth it.

Haven’t you ever made a purchase and taken a moment to appreciate it? This applies to mindful purchasers, not mere consumers like non-philosophers.

Take my MacBook for example. I purchased it in 2020, before COVID, and it is still in excellent condition.

I used to tell my dad: "You’ve got one life. Use your money. Don’t save it for us—I’m already hustling tight!"

This letter may seem all about Destiny, but really, it’s a reminder to use your money and enjoy life.

Life is brief, and you’ll only know it once you’ve lived. Too many people merely exist—broke as hell.

Life is fleeting; seize every opportunity. Don't be among those who lament the chances they let slip away. Research indicates that people often experience intense regret over missed opportunities. https://weekendchronicle.org/

You see, if you don’t like fashion, then why are you even hustling?

Oh yeah, I forgot. Some people just copy others—chase like others and die like others.

We enjoy and give the best things in life.

I'll keep this letter brief because it's just the start of a series. See you at the next one.

    Fashion up!

    — Destiny

  • Stop Wasting Your Life Building Someone Else’s Dream! (Build Yours)
    Jan 17 2025
"Make it happen. Shock everyone." – Unknown 18|01|2025 | Destiny Hey, Gone are the days when starting a business felt impossible. Not anymore, my friends. I was lucky to grow up learning the art of street trading with my parents in the '90s, just before the dot-com boom. What seemed insignificant back then has become one of my greatest assets today. Before we continue, evaluate whether Alex's comments resonate with you, and I hope you're in a better position to comprehend this little letter of mine. And, yeah, if you're bored of my sh!t. You're free to Unsubscribe. No hard feelings. And for those who are still eager to sail on, secure your anchor. It will be worthwhile. I sincerely promise. Truly, the reality is that starting or joining the world of entrepreneurship is never a simple endeavour. It has the potential to suck. And sucking sucks. However, once you overcome the initial slog, things begin to flow. I witnessed this in Community Building 101. Like seriously, I can't stop emphasising Community Building because it was and continues to be my first experience with virality in the digital sphere. I hope you don't become bored with it. I enjoy discussing finance but needed solid information to support my claims. To me, what makes a great story is conquering the initial hurdle entrenched in a new domain. As a philosopher, you're a conqueror by design. No more excuses. We’re in the 21st century. There’s no reason why you can’t start something of your own. Nothing will make you happier than waking up to a completed project. Oh, it feels great. I can attest. Achieving success has never been more accessible, even in a world of distractions. Innovation is not always necessary; instead, study what is already thriving, enhance it, repackage it, or infuse it with your unique perspective to create something valuable and compelling. I'm aware that some folks may say, "Destiny talks too much." And I f*ckin know, too. Yes, I do. I can't help it, though. The number of people who dedicate their entire lives to building someone else's empire rather than their own is astounding. Business ideas are everywhere. Just open your eyes. What’s the frustration? What problem do you keep running into? Solve it. That right there is a business opportunity. Allow me to give you a practical example. I just decided to update my workplace. Everything was in excellent alignment until I discovered my mousepad no longer matched the new arrangement. Rather than simply purchasing a replacement, I recognised an opportunity. Like always, I did a handful of research, found a niche, and turned my small frustration into a business idea. And based on research findings. The creative economy is expected to reach over $4 trillion by 2032, propelled by the digital revolution, technical innovation, and cultural trends. UN Trade and Development (UNCTAD) You see. It is that simple. Observe. Adapt. Resell. You don’t have to reinvent the wheel. Just make it roll smoother. I diligently redesigned a leather mousepad for myself in order to inspire aspiring creatives. Everything I did was for myself; the solution is being given for sale. So, tell me, what’s stopping you? Solve your personal burning problem, whether it's physical, digital, emotional, financial, or spiritual, and then offer the solution. There is always a hungry audience waiting for your inventive response. I hope this message is helpful in any manner. I will see you in the next one. • Avoid These 5 Critical Amazon FBA Mistakes
    Jan 10 2025

"Don’t be afraid to give up the good to go for the great." – John D. Rockefeller

    01|11|2025

    Hey Philosopher,

    Welcome back 2025!

To all our new philosophers here, I’m Destiny, and it’s great to meet you.

I'm the voice behind Weekend Chronicle, the founder of snuggleready.com and the creator of the one-of-a-kind Community Building 101 programme that has brought our amazing community together.

As we proceed into 2025, I’m thrilled to keep the fire blazing...

With great surprises ahead, we’re excited to have you along for the ride.

I’ll skip the long intro because we all have the attention span of a goldfish nowadays. Let's jump right in, mates.

5 Lessons I’m Learning from Amazon FBA

Before we begin, I reckon the lessons I'm about to share with us are worth a million dollars.

They're firsthand experiences and from a reliable source.

A quick tip: Learning does not always entail making mistakes for oneself.

Learning from individuals who have already travelled or are on the journey towards your destination is sometimes the wisest choice.

Consider getting travel advice from someone who has recently returned from a trip you are planning to embark on.

While Amazon FBA has enormous earning potential, your success depends on understanding its particular hurdles.

    Lesson 1: Patience

After sending 50 units of our snuggle brand to Amazon’s Melbourne warehouse, we were confident about ending 2024 strong. But there was a problem: enthusiasm alone doesn’t guarantee success.

The sales did not arrive as expected, but we weren't concerned because we had nothing to lose and a lot to gain by trying.

The purpose is not to sell products wholeheartedly; rather, it is to develop a digital lifestyle in light of the current circumstances of the digital landscape that we're in.

Yes, we did send an offer to most philosophers we thought would be in severe need of our dear products, but it was unsuccessful. We still love you regardless, perhaps next time.

By the way, if you have anything to sell to us, please do. That's the future of commerce. And this time, we're creating a unique phone holder for creatives.

This design was inspired by the desire to safeguard our gadgets from scratches and dents.

I loathe scratches and dints on my devices, and I am not the type of guy who places them in cases. No f*ckin way, it hides the devices' aesthetics.

You can take a peek if you want. We are designing them with utmost care and made with love.

    Great news

Yes. We are giving away five of these beautifully created presents to you for free. This is because we are a Thanksgiving community.

We'll keep you posted; simply continue opening the dawn letters to get all the hints.

Now, talk about New Year, New Bill! I mean for us.

I've attached a screenshot below to demonstrate how it all played out. After all, numbers are more effective storytellers than words.

You see, our net profit was negative fifty-four dollars, Ninety-five cents. (-54.95$). A must-pay fee to remain in the ecosystem.

But there’s always light at the end of the tunnel, as we kept reassuring ourselves. Giving up is not even an option at this moment.

I’d remind myself that even Amazon lost money at the beginning of its journey. ...Remember?

Yes. If you have a broader perspective, Amazon is a tremendous tool. However, remember the timeless rule from Community Building 101 about the perils of mediocrity.

You wouldn't wanna build an empire on a leased land.

    Lesson 2: Product line

When conducting product research, particularly if yours is not based on a lifestyle design.

consider compact products that require minimal storage space and offer greater versatility. You can still make money if you study the right.
