  • Changed lives, changing lives. At Plum Creek Church, these are more than just words on a wall. It’s why we’re here. It’s our mission to impact the valley of Castle Rock with the love of Jesus in tangible ways that lead others to know and follow Him. At Plum Creek this mission is lived out in many different ways: From our weekend experience and live stream, our engaging kids and students' environments, and our connection-driven group settings; everything we do is pointed in the direction of life-change. • Feeling stuck? Here’s how to move forward /// Out of the Shadows: Part 3
    Jan 19 2025

    We're so glad you've chosen to listen to our online experience! Here at Plum Creek, we’re all about changed lives, changing lives; and what that simply means is that what Christ has done in us is not just for us, but it’s for us to share with others in our community and around the world.

    ///

    If you're using this teaching for a small group setting, we've included discussion prompts to help guide your conversation:

    1. What does Elijah’s journey to Mount Horeb teach us about seeking God in difficult times?

    2. Reflect on a time when you felt stuck in despair—what helped you move forward?

    3. How do numbing distractions like social media or busyness impact our ability to heal?

    4. Why do you think God chose to speak to Elijah in a "low whisper" instead of a dramatic way?

    5. Share practical ways we can support someone walking through depression or anxiety.

  • What to do when God says “no” /// Out of the Shadows: Part 2
    Jan 12 2025

    We're so glad you've chosen to listen to our online experience! Here at Plum Creek, we’re all about changed lives, changing lives; and what that simply means is that what Christ has done in us is not just for us, but it’s for us to share with others in our community and around the world.

    ///

    If you're using this teaching for a small group setting, we've included discussion prompts to help guide your conversation:

    1. Share a time when you felt like God said “no” to something in your life. How did that experience shape your faith?

    2. Reflect on how God’s “no” could actually be a redirection toward something better. Consider moments in your life where hindsight revealed a greater plan.

    3. Imagine explaining to someone struggling with unanswered prayers why God's "no" doesn't mean He isn’t listening. How would you encourage them?

    4. Explore the emotions that come with receiving a “no” from God—disappointment, confusion, even relief. How do we navigate these feelings in a way that strengthens our faith?

    5. Think about a time when you later realized that God’s “no” was actually a form of protection. What did you learn from that experience?

  • Can you combat shame? /// Out of the Shadows: Pt 1
    Jan 5 2025

    We're so glad you've chosen to listen to our online experience! Here at Plum Creek, we’re all about changed lives, changing lives; and what that simply means is that what Christ has done in us is not just for us, but it’s for us to share with others in our community and around the world.

    ///

    If you're using this teaching as content for a small group setting, we've included some discussion questions as well.

    1. What are some of the ways shame has influenced your decisions or your view of yourself, and how does this compare to how God sees you?

    2. How did Jesus’ response to the woman caught in adultery challenge the religious leaders’ approach to sin, and what can we learn from it about grace and redemption?

    3. In what ways do we hide from God, like Adam and Eve in Genesis 3, and how can we step into the light instead of staying in the shadows?

    4. How does understanding the difference between guilt and shame help us respond to our own failures and the failures of others in a more Christ-like way?

    5. What practical steps can you take this year to replace the lies of the enemy with the truth of God’s love and forgiveness in your life?
