Saludos, amigos, and welcome! In this episode, Dave, Mark and Jony (and Uncle Mickey) travel South with the Disney animators, making stops in Peru, Chile, and Brazil, among others, in the 1943 film Saludos Amigos! Being the first of the "package films" the made up most of the 40's in Disney feature film as well as the first of two to be part of the Good Neighbor policy to help strengthen relationships with the Americas during wartime, this is a rather interesting leg of our film journey. We've seen about everything when we've seen an elephant fly! And today is that day! Join Dave, Mark, and Jony as we take a time-train back to 1941 to visit our big-eared elephant friend: Dumbo! There will be pink elephants, talks of inspiration from Salvador Dali and Heinrich Kley, some thoughts on censorship and problematic depictions, the return of Lampwick (maybe), and, of course, the surprise question the boys try and keep their composure with!
