• S02E05 - C is for Cynicism!
    Oct 23 2022

In a CAFTS first - this entire episode was recorded remotely! Despite that, Rachel and Terence's shenanigans continue. In today's episode, they refocus their energies to return to the podcast's roots by talking about "difficult" topics that plague millennials. One such issue is how we deal with life's ups and downs: do we face it with bitterness and cynicism or do we bury our heads in the sand and act with naïveté? And, when faced with such grievances, how long should we hold on to the pain? Is there any value in retaining years-long hostility?

  • S02E04 - Please Hire Me
    May 22 2022

After another long hiatus caused by a mix of life and work issues, Rachel and Terence are back to talk about the workplace. They reflect upon the difficulties surrounding businesses' "open door" policies, the interview process, the military's own versions of interviews and how they deal with promotion, managing ambition, and workplace etiquette. Finally, come learn about how Rachel answers the crucial interview question of "what's your go-to superpower?" Spoiler: it's lame.

  • S02E03 - Friendly Encounters
    Feb 28 2022

In this episode, we talk about making friends as adults, which is super hard. Terence is an introvert and Rachel gets paid to make friends. Both find it hard to make those connections as adults because we’re not kids anymore. It’s questionable to ask a stranger to play with them at the playground, although if they pass the vibe check, then why not?

  • S02E02 - Balls and Chains
    Feb 5 2022

In this final episode of the series on relationships, our hosts reflect on how messy an arrangement marriage could be. Rachel is someone who's basically been married her entire adult life while Terence is a classic/tragic divorcé so they're 110% qualified to talk about this. Topics range from how love isn't a feeling, the five "love languages," counseling, and how to keep the relationship spicy both in and out of the bedroom.

  • S02E01 - A Decade's Retrospective
    Jan 17 2022

You're reading that right: We're in season two of CAFTS! Sure, it's mostly a nominal change as the show's seasons will align with the calendar year. But it's both a symbolic and tangible way for us to come back to our project with renewed enthusiasm and vigor. In this episode, we catch up on what's gotten us so tied up in the closing months of 2021 but, more importantly, reflect on how much we've changed in the past decade. Everything from fashion, habits, personality, and attitudes towards love ... even Rachel's scandalous teenage years.

  • S01E13 - Catching Up, Checking In
    Jan 9 2022

[Note: originally recorded on November 13, 2021]

It had been way too long since our last full recording in September - real life commitments at work have kept us from properly dedicating time to get together and create anything new. This final episode of 2021 serves as a brief "catch up" to bridge the gap between early September and the start of 2022: Rachel and Terence talk about what's been taking up their time and discuss a possible poetry episode in the near future, among other smaller topics.

  • S01E12 - CAFTS Goes to the Movies!
    Sep 7 2021

Rom-coms, summer blockbusters, indie flicks, anything with superheroes in it - we've all got a favorite kind of movie. Today, Rachel and Terence start off by spending a little more time catching up since they're both one step closer towards the dream jobs they talked about in Episode 2. But when they finally get to talking about their favorite movies, we can pretty much conclude that Terence is actually just another angry basement-dwelling Marvel fanboy/neckbeard and Rachel is deathly afraid of Hollywood execs ruining her favorite movies.

  • S01E11 - There's Something Under the Bed
    Aug 22 2021

Everyone's afraid of something and that's perfectly fine. Today, we talk about our fears of all types - those rooted in childhood experiences, the irrational kinds that seem ridiculous to strangers, and the deepest fears ones that shape our day-to-day lives. Terence shares how he's afraid of losing his eyesight and living the rest of his life alone while Rachel is terrified of death and losing her loves ones. Despite the topic's scary nature, we somehow still manage to find plenty to laugh about!
