• Back 9 Bri -- Arena Host for the Albany FireWolves, Albany Firebirds, New York Phoenix (Episode 9)

    The biggest ambassador of Albany sports brings the heat to Billy GOATS In The Arena! It was only right that episode 9 of the podcast featured the local legend Back 9 Bri. Back 9 Bri is going into his third season as the arena host for the Albany FireWolves, second season with the Albany Firebirds, and he just locked in a brand new opportunity with the newest sports team in the Capital Region, the New York Phoenix!

    During the pandemic in 2020, Brian was out getting food with his buddies, Danny Ball and Joe Foley, and Danny whipped out his phone and told Brian to do a review on what he was going to eat. Despite being uncomfortable and having no idea what he was doing, Back 9 Bri went full send with the food review and an incredible video came out of it... and that's what started it all. After Bri and the boys made that first video, the momentum was there and they continued to create. Brian started his own podcast, did more reviews, created other videos for social media, and that allowed Brian Rhatigan to become Back 9 Bri -- the internet sensation who became a staple in his community.

    Because of all his hard work in social media, he was able to make connections with the Albany sports teams, and that led to him getting the positions with the FireWolves, Firebirds and Phoenix. He has truly enjoyed taking his positive energy and bringing it to fans in real life... and now he is the biggest showman who steps foot into MVP Arena in downtown Albany!

    The spectacular Seth "The Shadow" Cooper brings all of his positive energy to episode 7 of Billy GOATS In The Arena! Seth is a young man of many talents and he's been in radio/broadcasting for over 10 years -- he started when he was only 15 years old! Absolutely incredible stuff.

    Seth is currently an afternoon radio host for Hits 95.9 in the greater Adirondack area and on top of being on the air... he also has his own production company (Talkin' Smack Productions), produces a podcast (Talkin' Smack), hosts the weekly Adirondack Thunder radio show (On Center Ice), and does the public address announcing for the Adirondack Junior Thunder. Based on our discussion, it's clear that there's nothing that Seth doesn't do when it comes to creation in the community.

    When Seth was a teenager, he chose to interview Glens Falls legend and the guest on episode 6 of the podcast, Dan Minor, for some extra credit in school. After Seth nailed his interview with Dan The Man, Dan invited Seth to come back to the station whenever he wants to shadow and learn from him... so he started going whenever he possibly could and the rest is history. Seth knew right away that being in radio was everything to him so getting this opportunity was a dream come true. He started in his hometown and he's been running it up in his hometown for over a decade now... talk about a hometown hero!

    During the discussion on the show, Seth also talks about how he started calling video games when he was playing them as a child, the disability he has and how he turned it into a positive, why he loves being where he is, the importance of starting when it comes to taking the leap, and much more!

    Dan Miner has been a staple in Glens Falls, New York for 40 plus years working as a radio host, public address announcer and overall positive influence on the community. The Troy, New York native dreamed of becoming a radio broadcaster when he was just 7 years old and from that moment on, he did everything in his power to turn that fantasy into a reality. Since he was so heavily involved in learning the craft as a youngster, he pretty much became a professional right off the rip when he was a teenager... and the rest is history!

    It's very safe to say that this young lady knows a thing or two about winning at the highest level. In episode 5 of Billy GOATS In The Arena, we are joined by a 4x Kelly Cup Champion who's going on her 14th season with the Florida Everblades... give it up for a real master of ceremonies -- Nina Zambelli!

    Nina is the heart and soul of the Florida Everblades hockey community. She has been involved with the organization for over a decade and she's basically worn every single hat for the team. From dancer, to dance coach, to arena host... Nina takes great pride in performing under the bright lights every game night in Southern Florida. The local legend is all in on her opportunities with the franchise and every year she has the same goals and mission -- give the fans the best show and win another Kelly Cup. Based on her resume, it's valid to note that she's pretty darn good at doing just that!

    Last ECHL hockey season, Nina's Everblades took down Billy's Thunder in the Eastern Conference Finals to advance to the Kelly Cup to face the Kansas City Mavericks. The Florida Everblades went on to defeat the Mavericks and they took home their THIRD STRAIGHT Kelly Cup Title... what a dominant dynasty!

    During this conversation, Nina details what it's like to be a consistent champion, how incredible her hockey community is, how she got started in this field, how she stays positive through all the ups and downs, her goals for the future and much more!

    We have another GOAT stepping into the podcasting arena today and he goes by the name of Mike Ploger AKA The DC Don because he runs the sports scene in the Nation's Capital!     Mike started working for the Nationals back in 2013 as their ballpark host and just a few years later, he landed the coveted arena host position with the Capitals in Washington D.C. He was born and raised in the area and is also a diehard Wizards and Commanders fan as well, always going to games and cheering on his local teams even when he's not being called upon to host. This guy lives for Washington sports and you can tell immediately that he couldn't be more grateful to be a fan of these teams while also playing such a pivotal for two of them.

    One of Mike's biggest dreams growing up was to become a sports reporter for a local news station and for a period of time, he was able to live that dream in Toledo, Ohio covering the 2016 Cavaliers championship, Ohio State football and more. However, that dream was cut short and it was completely out of his control, but that unfortunate situation ended up becoming the biggest blessing in disguise because he was then able to find his way in the best way as a host and true face of his sports city.

    Along with talking about his experiences working for both the Nationals and Capitals, Mike details how important his family is to him, the great story about how he met his wife, the feelings he has towards his city and of course, the hype surrounding Jayden Daniels and the Washington Commanders this season. At the end of the interview, Mike also dives into some valuable pieces of information that will surely inspire the kids and basically anyone who chooses to listen to this conversation!

    Mike is without a doubt an irreplaceable piece to the operations in Washington and based on what he said, he has no plans of ever leaving! For the Hurricanes, Meghan is responsible for giving in-game updates about the team and announcing to the fans what's going on that night on the ice! For MIX 101.5, she hosts the midday show Monday through Friday and she also has her own internet series called 'Check It Out Carolina' where she goes from place to place in the area to highlight her favorites businesses, restaurants, outdoor activities and more!

    When it comes to inspiration, Meghan has one of the best stories that you need to hear. After growing up in the New England area, Meghan moved to her dream city, Los Angeles, to pursue her aspirations of becoming an entertainer and host. She had immense success out west doing a bunch of work as a host for professional racing and monster trucks while hustling at her full-time job as well. But when COVID hit and the events had stopped, her gut told her that it was time to move on and leave her dream city behind. It was an incredibly hard decision to make, but at age 33, she packed her bags and headed back east to North Carolina to start over... and the rest is history.

    Along with stories about her background, her time in LA, how she got her jobs with the Hurricanes and MIX 101.5, her ups & downs and how much she loves North Carolina, Meghan took the time to share some very powerful messages for the kids.     Kaity loves her last name so much that she doesn't even go by her first name. Everyone just calls her Floyd and her stage name when she's performing her music is She Is Floyd -- you gotta love it!

    Floyd has been in the hosting game for several years, getting her start with the Frisco Roughriders, the Double-A affiliate of the Texas Rangers. That opportunity then landed her other hosting positions with teams like the Allen Americans hockey team and Dallas Jackals rugby team. She was also the star of the Cricket World Cup this past summer as she got the chance to be the stadium host for that illustrious tournament as well.
