  • 82. Hogsnort Bulldogs Goodtime Band
    Nov 25 2024

We are joined in the studio by Neil Worboys of the Hogsnort Bulldogs Goodtime Band. The Hogsnort Bulldogs are the combination of two classic New Zealand bands that date all the way back to the 60’s and 70’s. Hogsnort Rupert and the Bulldogs Allstar Goodtime Band have joined forces to bring you what is perhaps New Zealand’s greatest “Skiffle” band ever. Both of these bands got their start on different iterations of the same TV based talent show known as ‘NZBC’s Studio One New Faces’. The Bulldogs enjoyed a successful career in which they toured extensively, had a number of chart topping hits and even performed for and met the Queen! Likewise, Hogsnort Rupert got their start in 1969, had a number of massive hits, and are now recognised as legends in their own right. Their music frequently appears in the tracklists of classic NZ music compilation albums and they are now also one of the longest running bands in New Zealand music history. Neil also treats us to several life performances throughout the show.

We are joined in the studio by the Poneke based musical artist Jeline. Jeline got her start singing with karaoke and in musical theater and the interest has since blossomed into a full blown creative pursuit. Jeline is studying commercial music at Massey University and her current output consists of work that combines modern pop production with indie music, rock, RnB and rap. We’re gonna chat to the self professed ‘fillipina next door’ about her artistic career thus far.

  • 80. Sig Wilder
    Oct 22 2024

We are joined in the studio by the Wellington-based musician Sig Wilder. We had a chat to Sig midway through his: ‘Just Janie & Sig Wilder | Sylvia Tour’. The ‘Sylvia Tour’ is named as such because Just Janie and Sig Wilder met earlier in the year only to realize they had both written songs titled ‘Sylvia’ that were influenced by poetry collections from Sylvia Plath and Sylvia Legris. After performing together, the duo knew there was something special when their voices merged. We chat to Sig about his life and work, and Sig also treats us to a handful of live, on-air performances, so tune in!
