Über diesen Titel
Sometimes, a second chance comes when you least expect it.
Kate Cormier thought she’d love Sutton Guidry forever. But when one bad decision ended things, she moved on, building a life for herself and her daughter. These days, she hardly thinks about all those dreams. Until Sutton shows up, acting like she never left and looking more gorgeous than ever.
Sutton has spent a decade avoiding her hometown, memories of first love, and the girl who broke her heart. She’s built a career, but the life that goes with it leaves her uninspired. When her father needs surgery, she decides coming home to help him recover is a chance to face those ghosts, once and for all. But with so many pieces of her life still there - including Kate - it’s hard not to imagine trying again. Can she find a way to put them together without falling apart all over again?

An ok book
I‘m a big fan of Aurora Rey‘s writing style and her Provincetown series will always be one of my favourites.
The writing was great again and as usual there were several hot scenes in it. I totally fell in love with Sutton and Harper. Their moments together were amazing and so sweet. Also Kate‘s brother Bryce was one of the highlights in this book to me. You definitely can’t ask for a better sibling.
On the other hand I struggled a lot with Kate. The reason why she and Sutton broke up 10 years ago is actually something would struggle very much to forgive. Yes they were both so young then and there were some circumstances that led to this. Considering that definitely would help me to forgive. But it would also need a lot of work together and most of all insight before I would consider trying it again.
At some point Kate’s behaviour actually frustrated me. For me she was just self-righteous. There are always two people needed, when things go wrong. And while I can’t see that Sutton did a lot wrong, Kate seemed to decline on any insight at all and it was all on Sutton. When they finally had their talk, some of the things that were said didn’t make a lot of sense to me.
I'm a huge believer of talking about things. For me looking into yourself and ask yourself, what you can do, to handle a situation differently and how to personally improve, all those are things that are needed for me that a relationship works. And this is what I couldn’t find this in this book.
Besides my struggles with Kate and their communication, both fathers had their moments where I was asking myself if they really love their daughters as much as they say.
All in all it‘s still good and I'm sure that many others will be very happy with it. For me it was an ok read but didn't love as much as I did other books by Aurora Rey. Especially the Provincetown series.
Last but not least I really enjoyed Keira Grace as the narrator.

You never forget your first love
I very much enjoyed this reunion romance between Kate Cormier and Sutton Guidry. When Sutton leaves for college she leaves her girlfriend behind and not able to face the life she left behind she stays away from her home town until her father needs her home. Kate stayed in town raising her daughter Harper as a single mom. When their path cross unresolved feelings wake between the two.
This is probably my new favorite Aurora Rey book. I couldn't help myself falling in love with Harper, Kates nine year old daughter who is just full of charm wrapping the two adults around her little finger. The writing and the story of Kate and Sutton hast me engrossed from the first minute and I couldn't stop until I had reached the end.
If you like reunion romances, witty kids and meddling family members that is a story for you.
