Nach dem ersten Buch berichtet Yeonmi Park in diesem Werk über die Parallelen der Nordkoreanischen Diktatur mit dem aufflammenden Neomarxismus im Westen anhand ihrer persönlichen Erfahrungen in den USA. Für kritisch denkende Menschen ein lesenswertes Buch.
Das Buch ist Englisch gelesen, vielleicht kommt später noch eine deutsche Übersetzung.

Wie Yeonmi Parks erstes Buch, ist dieses sehr gut geschrieben und unterhaltsam zu hören. Es zeigt anhand konkreter Erlebnisse die Parallelen der Mundtodmachung der Cancel Culture zu nordkoreanischem Terror auf und dass der Weg dahin schleichend und gefährlich ist. Besonders faszinierend erläutert wird, wieder anhand Erlebnissen von Yeonmi, wie jegliches Interesse an Hilfestellung der Elite durch die Abhängigkeit von China erstummt. Aber auch wie sie Glück und Freiheit empfindet. Sehr empfehlenswert.

This is difficult. I loved Parks first book. Her second book is often redundant, she frequently cites parts of her first book. In between is was at times hard to follow her train of thoughts; I found myself searching for a red line. Park almost randomly rambled from topic to topic. As a German from the East who lived for over 20 years in the US and eventually became American citizen, I could understand ( although not always shared) her point of view on political issues; however, I felt that Park was frequently contradicting herself a couple of pages later.
