Über diesen Titel
Vahin Arora, Hamburger Mary’s sexy bartender, plays the flirtatious role so well even his closest friends don’t realize he hasn’t had a hookup in months. Then "tall, dark, and handsome" steps through the door, and Vahin’s passion races back to life.
Being a Black cop on the Denver police force is no easy job - Marlon Barton can’t imagine adding being gay to the equation. While Marlon loves his work, his life has taken a turn for the hellish because of his new partner, the nephew of a senator.
Fleeing his partner’s company one night, Marlon stumbles into Mary’s for the first time...and wakes up with a hangover in the bartender’s bed. The one-night stand heats up into a budding romance, but not without stress as Marlon’s partner’s actions threaten Vahin’s livelihood and Marlon’s future on the force. Can Vahin and Marlon face the challenges and hold on to the love and chosen family they’ve found?

Back to the rambunctious colorful world of Mary's
Marlon works as police officer for DPD. He is out but not on the job, as he thinks being a black cop is already trouble enough. Obviously not, and his bigoted partner tries to rile him up futher at any given moment. When he sort of escapes into Hamburger Mary's, Marlon's already complicated life gets even more turned up-side-down when he meets cocky bartender Vahin.
I liked that this time both MCs are mature characters and already carry a big bundle of prejudice due to their origin of birth in addition to their sexual preferences. Although Vahin sences that Marlon is not the most easy guy to be around with, he really wants to give them both more than one chance. The conversations between those two strong men are blunt and honest, and Vahin deserves a blue ribbon for being so understanding when Marlon is trying to keep hin at arm's length all of a sudden.
Wow, Gerrod Larkyn has my full admiration for his voice variations. From gentle Darwin&Cody he now has changed and given my most favourite pair of this series, Marlon and Vahin, perfect gruff and deep voices. The confusion and then realisation of Marlon after their first night is so vividly told, it made the whole scene truely come „alive“ in my head.
