Am relevantesten
Kept me engaged through the whole thing, which is not always easy going on 80 hours of story. The general themes are similar to the other books. The ending was a little sad but satisfying nontheless.

Solid end to the series

And not one I entirely enjoyed, but it's still good. The characters remain the lovable monsters they were, the narration remains fun.

What changes drastically is the scope of the story. We go from one island to multiple, to island clusters, to the whole soul farm, and beyond.

The protagonist also changes a lot. Ultimately in good ways, but we've never been further from the scared little girl we rooted for in volume 1, Which is a mixed blessing.

I can understand why some people might not like this volume, but I still had a lot of fun with it. I only hope we'll get to see the war on the Watcher in some capacity eventually. The story so far made the thing far too hateable to not make me want to see it die.

I really enjoyed this web novel turned audiobook series.
While it was vastly different from what I initially expected and didn't always leave me feeling happy, it used emotions to either exemplify the protagonist's development into an inhuman being or create stakes.

One huge point to be made, though, is that this book would have received five stars if it weren't for the change of narrator.
Jessica Almasy did a really good job in books 1–3, and while Helen Laser isn't bad per se, her interpretations of the well-known characters (especially Penelope, which was the most jarring) weren't compatible and always broke the immersion, despite the fact that this is the last book intended to finalise the characters' individual plotlines. I stopped reading the web version after a while, as I had developed my own mental image of the characters, but to each their own.
If Audible uploads a second version with Almasy as narrator in the future, I'd buy it to relisten.

Captivating story / Unfitting narrator change

What the heck was that? Confusing, bloated and in general a very strange ending for a series that was until the end of book two interesting. A new concept of a world and an interesting story until book two but you clearly noticed that the author was bored with the characters and only phoning it in.

Honestly it soured the entire series for me.
