To preface: I did this as a standalone, so don't know if I missed something important ftom earlier books (this is 3rd in a series), and although a WhisperSync, I didn't read at the same time, just listened to the story.
There were times when lines were repeated,, which sounded identical, so it wasn't apparent if done intentionally or not - and an especially glaring grammatical error, all together detracting from what I would have liked to rate higher.
Otherwise, touches of humour, poignant moments and the slow reveal of "why" made for a good mix.
