Über diesen Titel
Lauren Prescott had dreamed of being an actress since she was cast as Wendy in her junior high production of Peter Pan. Yes, her nightgown snagged and brought the set tumbling down, but she was hooked. After years of unsuccessful auditions, performing just wasn’t in the cards. Instead, Lauren established herself as a successful stage manager at the esteemed McAllister Theatre. Unfortunately, the resident director has cast celebrity, Carly Daniel: Headstrong, entitled, and always late. So, why is their chemistry turning her the hell on?
After partying her way through her twenties and ruining a successful film career, Carly Daniel has to take whatever she can get. If schlepping it onstage will raise her star again, she’ll listen to her pesky agent. Added bonus: The uptight stage manager is a sexy distraction.
When Carly’s costar is sidelined, Lauren must decide whether renewing a long-forgotten dream will jeopardize what she has percolating with Carly. Is the limelight big enough for two?

Good but not perfect
👉🏻 This was a cute story that unfortunately didn't live up to its potential.
💡 Lauren Prescott is a stage manager at the "McAllister Theatre" in Minneapolis. Since she was little, she always wanted to be an actress, however, she never made it. Therefore, she found her passion for stage management. Through her proper and conscientious work, she has made a great name for herself at the "McAllister Theatre".
And then there's Carly Daniel, a starlet from California, who became famous through her appearances in well-known blockbusters. Due to her selfish behaviour and late arrivals on sets, she was literally blacklisted in Hollywood. She no longer receives auditions and is forced to accept a role in a theatre to save her reputation. This leads her to the "McAllister Theatre" where she meets Lauren.
Lauren is not impressed by her name or her stardom. The stage manager is rather annoyed by Carly's behaviour. This doesn't bother the actress and she befriends Lauren at an evening with the theatre crew in a bar.
Without spoiler now: The outcome of the story is very predictable and nothing new. The first half of the book felt very flat and too drawn out. The second half, on the other hand, was much better and more exciting. Nevertheless, the ending felt too short and rushed for me. Also, the characters could have used a lot more depth. Nevertheless, I found both characters very likeable and you could understand their points of view very well.
I would also like to add that I found the insight into the theatre world very detailed and interesting. I really enjoyed this part of the book and it made me feel like I actually understood the whole process involved in planning a play.
♥️ If you're into a light read with a predictable plot, then this book is for you. Don't get me wrong, I didn't hate the book - I actually liked the second half a lot. But it didn't leave me satisfied. 😂
